Amy Stranieri received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Willamette University and her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Oregon State University. She has spent over twenty years working with youth and families. Currently, Amy is the Counseling Department Head at Thurston High School where she has worked for the past 17 years. In the fall of 2010, Amy completed the Stanford University Strategic Decision and Risk Management Certificate Program: Decision Quality for Educators and Decision Quality for Counselors. After completing the program, Amy has worked to incorporate Decision Quality into the thinking at Thurston High School by infusing Decision Quality in decision making into the counseling department, organizing the Decision Education Foundation’s (DEF) Strong Start Program for incoming freshmen, starting a Decision Understanding Club for all students, and the past three years designing and teaching a College and Career Readiness Course with Frank Koch for Seniors and Juniors with Decision Quality at the foundation. Amy has served on the DEF Advisory Board for four years and the Society of Decision Professional’s Board of Directors for three.
